OPEN CALL for NOMINATION FOR APR SUB-COMMITTEES 2022-2025

The 10th APR Scout Leaders (Virtual) Summit in April 2021, after having discussed the Regional Plan and 2022-2025 focus areas, recommended six major focus areas: Youth Engagement, Educational Methods, Diversity and Inclusion, Governance, Social Impact, and Communications & Partnerships.  

The Regional Scout Committee, at its virtual meeting on 04-11 April 2021, recommended these strategic priority areas for the period 2022-2025.

SUPPORT STRUCTURE

Six sub-committees will be responsible for implementing the APR Plan focusing on their respective priority areas. The six sub-committees are:

NOMINATIONS TO SUB-COMMITTEES

Nominations are invited from eligible leaders through this open call in reference to the APR Scout Conference Resolution “4/18 Applications for Sub-Committees should be promoted widely as an open call. Applications are submitted directly to World Scout Bureau’s Asia-Pacific Support Centre with each NSO’s approval to be sought by the Asia-Pacific Support Centre once applications are received”.

 

We have attached a detailed Guideline on the nomination and appointment of members to these sub-committees.

 

The final appointment of members to all sub-committees will be made by the Regional Scout Committee in February 2022 and will be announced before the closing of the 27th APR Scout Conference. As practiced, immediately after the announcement, the newly-formed sub-committees will hold its first meeting on the last day of the conference.

 

To facilitate the nominations, we are attaching the following:

  •  Guidelines on the Nomination and Appointment of Members to Sub-Committees including the Sub-Committees Terms of References

  •  Nomination forms (5 pages) that include the responsibilities of the members of the sub-committees 

     

Nominations should be made in line with the guideline and only those leaders who are able to undertake responsibilities and can actively contribute to the sub-committees are nominated.

 

In making nominations to the Sub-Committees, we strongly encourage to consider the following:

 

1.  Nomination of an adult member under the age of 30 years (at the time of appointment) in order to abide by Conference Resolution 4/18 b which states “Two members of each of the Sub-Committee must be under the age of 30 at the time of appointment.

2. Nomination of female members to have a good gender balance (men and women)

 

May we request that this information be widely circulated in your NSO for submission of nominations. Nomination forms can be filled in either online or by hard copy which is attached. 

The nominations shall reach the Asia-Pacific Support Centre latest by 30th November 2021.
