The Scouts of Bolivia and the DPSG (German Scouts of San Jorge) have a long relationship of collaboration and international friendship that dates back to 1964, over the years they have developed several projects of cultural exchange and social development. And this is how the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic collided again into one big project together.

The city of Tarija has lived more than 120 days out of 40 rigid, making it impossible for people to leave their homes and not to work, causing a terrible economic crisis that has generated hunger in many low-income families.

Around $ 5,000 (US dollars) were raised by the "AK VAMOS" which in the acronym of the International Justice Commission of the Diocese of Speyer of the Deutsche Pfadfinderschaft Sankt Georg. With the idea of bringing 220 families 10 kilos of non-perishable food. The package included: 2 kg of rice, 2 kg of noodles, 2 kg of sugar, 1 kg of flour, 0.76 kg of milk, 1 kg of cocoa, 0.75 lt of oil.

AK VAMOS in Germany managed to mobilize families from Scout Groups, leaders and friends from the Speyer region under the premise "donate 20 Euros to feed a family in Tarija" they organized a collection of money to buy food.

During the weekend, 320 families were impacted with the food packages, with the collaboration of 7 German leaders and 12 Bolivian leaders. The collaboration is expected to continue to impact more families in Bolivia and they are even evaluating the proposal to continue collecting funds through the Scout donation platform.

“Lo fulfil our duty as Scouts and we are not

“ Me encuentro muy afectada por las condiciones en las que estas familias estaban viviendo, es muy bueno cumplir nuestra misión como Scouts y serviles a las familias más pobres y lejanas. Todos podemos ayudar con un granito de arena” Kathya Donaire Gudiño.
