Youth Advisor Update #4 – March ‘15 What? Work Streams Meeting Where? Athens, Greece When? Feb, 2015 Who? Daiana, Jérémy, Luis, Maeed, Máire, & Montaser Hi there, us again! We’re sorry for the silence, it has been a busy few months! We have some good news to tell you about the progress of accomplishing our new Vision 2023. During out last meeting which took place in Athens, Greece from 20th - 22nd February we finally got to know the volunteers selected from the Open Call. Over the next three years four Work Streams will be organized around the Strategic Priorities as identifed in our Triennial Plan - do you remember them? They are Innovating Scouting, Reaching Out to All, Strengthening Scouting’s Profile and Governance & NSO Support. This Work Stream are integrated by The WSC, the Youth Advisors, Volunteers form the Open Call and the WSB staff. One of the main goals was to establish the KPIs for the next three years, Whats a KPI? Key Performance Indicators, they help to define and measure progress toward goals. They have to be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-Based, in short terms … SMART. By the end of the weekend the four Work Streams developed their own KPIs to ensure a clear path to archive our Vision 2023 and the progress of this triennium. One of the main successes of the weekend, in our eyes, was that exactly one third of those who took part in the Work Streams Meeting were aged under 30. Not only did we meet the target set by the World Scout Committee, but we now have a strong foundation on which to build for the rest of the Triennium. Remember, just because you were not selected this time does not mean that you should give up. There are plenty of other ways to get involved, in your NSOs or your Regions, or maybe even with some World initiatives later in the Triennium. We would like to congratulate every Young Person who took the time to submit an open call, especially for getting the recognition and approval of your NSO to do so. Finally, we want to thank everyone who contributed to the survey we conducted regarding Youth Wall. We appreciate everyone’s input and feedback and are looking forward to working with you to make Youth Wall bigger and better, reaching out to more Young People around the world! As always you can get the latest information in our main channels, Youth Wall on Facebook, Scout.org and Twitter (@ScoutYouthWall). Yours in Scouting Daiana, Jérémy, Luis, Maeed, Máire, & Montaser Your Youth Advisors to the World Scout Committee (2014 – 2017)
