Mongolia eyes big membership increase in 2016

22. Ago 2013

The Scouts Association of Mongolia (TSAM) held its National Strategic Planning Review Workshop in its newly-built Batsumber Scout Camp in Tuv Province, about two and a half hours drive from the capital city of Ulaanbaatar. It was for the first time that the Scout Association of Mongolia held an event with international resource persons at this Scout Camp, which is still under development.

Participants were enthusiastic despite the extreme cold weather in a camping environment and for working more than 14 hours a day in mapping out the future of TSAM.

The workshop reviewed TSAM’s achievements of the plan 2008-2013 and based on a situational analysis, came up with six priority areas to achieve TSAM Vision 2023.

The workshop was attended by 30 key leaders, including Chief Commissioner Ms Baigalma Lkhagvasuren, International Commissioner Mr Adiyabold Namkhai and Secretary General Mr Bayarjargal Damdindagva. In a simple ceremony, Deputy Minister of Justice Ministry and former Chief Commissioner Mr Erdenejamiyan Erdenebileg inaugurated the workshop. APR Management Sub-Committee Chairman Malcolm Tan and APR Director for Development Support and Finance S. Prassanna Shrivastava supported the workshop.

The draft of the national strategic plan 2023, written both in English and Mongolian, was presented at the closing ceremony, signed by participants and the Chief Commissioner showing their commitment to adopt and implement it.
