The university of Lagos , Akoka has officially recognized the Varsity Scout Division of the University, a community based Divisional unit of the Lagos State Scout Council operating within the University system as one of the youth associations in the campus .

This was contained in a letter addressed to the leadership of the Varsity Scouts signed by the Deputy Dean II Students Affairs , Dr M.N Amadi .

Amadi after Congratulating the varsity team expressed the readiness of the University to support the Educational program provided by Scouting ,whilst asking the Varsity Division to contribute to the unique attributes known with the Citadel of Learning. 

You can recall that the Varsity Scouts Division recently won cash prize from the World Scout Bureau after emerging first world among the action initiatives competed on the Scout Donation platform .

Reacting to the development, the Secretary to the Varsity Scout Division, Mr Kenneth Okonkwo described the News as a call to service , and an essential confirmation of the Scouting principles .
Mr Okonkwo called on members to renew commitment towards the priority services of the Division.

He added that the year 2020 work plan for the team was ready for deployment by January 2019.

The varsity Scouts are members of the community based group with interest in the development of young undergraduates into agents of positive change using the scouting method
