22 new volunteers from the Interamerican Scout Region join the global team of WOSM Consultants to provide services to National Scout Organizations in strengthening their capabilities based on the Service Model.
From Wednesday 4 to Sunday 8 September in Panama City, the 4th edition of the WOSM Consultants Training took place, the previous editions were in Tunisia, Budapest for the European Region and Nairobi for the Africa Region. On this occasion, the Interamerican Region call 22 volunteers who were identified as potential consultants due to their knowledge and experience in the areas of the Youth Programme, Diversity and Inclusion, Better World Framework, Youth Engagement, Adults in Scouting, Good Governance, GSAT and Communications.
The process began with a previous online induction, on WOSM's essential topics, consulting skills and additional courses related to the service for which they were called and the Safe From Harm course. The next stage consisted of the four-day face-to-face training where a team of consulting experts and facilitators from the service areas of the Interamerican Region were in charge of providing tools and techniques to ensure the good performance of the consultants and the quality standard in the services they will provide in response to the requests of the NSOs.
Raúl Sánchez, Regional Director said "this is a very important moment for WOSM because the Service Model is being strengthened by including competent volunteers to have more coverage in addressing the needs of NSOs, we now have people of a very high profile, trained to fill this role".
Janet Márquez, coordinator of the course for Interamerica said "it was a great learning experience for everyone, to be able to work in coaching processes to improve adult skills, is a great step that is perfectly linked with the technical for the improvement of the competences of adults according to what is proposed by the World Policy for Adults in Scouting".
We invite National Scout Organizations to visit the WOSM Services page and discover the resources that are available such as virtual courses, policies, guides and documents in general, as well as the services they can request to be attended by the staff of the World Scout Office and the Volunteer Consultants team.
