Rest areas and accommodation

We recognise that living in a tent for such a long period is very tiring and that we will all be working very hard during the Jamboree. To help provide a bit more comfort and a more private rest area, we have rented to two large houses for use by the WOSM team.

These houses are about 30 minutes from the Jamboree. Each house has 12 beds over three levels, two kitchens, social areas, and a decking area outside. Most of the rooms are shared. There are washing machines, dryers, TVs, wi-fi, and fridges. We will have two vans to get you to and from the Jamboree site.

It is our intention that you will be able to spend at least a couple of nights in these houses during the Jamboree and especially on your day off. We will ensure they are stocked with food (including snacks) and soft drinks. We will arrange a rota to ensure everyone gets a chance to stay there and have a rest as well as a bit of quiet time.

We will also have available a couple of multi-bedded rooms near the Jamboree Headquarters for those who need to work shifts, work late, or start early. This will enable people who need to get going quickly to have a shower and start work quickly. It will also provide a break from the tents for those who may need them.

If you would prefer to have a hotel room at your own cost, we may be able to help you if you let us know soon. Rooms are at a premium due to the Jamboree and are generally about USD 160 per night. You would also need to arrange for transport to and from the Welcome Centre each day to get a shuttle bus to the site.
