As the World Scout Youth Forum (WSYF) progresses, the participants tackle more delicate issues. The two main over arching themes of this Forum are Youth Empowerment and Scouting as a World Wide Movement. Emphasis on this second day was put on Youth Empowerment, Youth rights and how to “Tell the story” in order to give the participants the background, understanding and tools with which they can advocate for the benefits and value of Scouting.

Using three phases, which are to Explore, sharing of information, Develop, capacity building and skills development and Respond , taking concrete actions and committing oneself to achieving their goals, to navigate the thematic discussions, today, the participants focused on evaluating and debating the World Organization of the Scout Movement’s (WOSM) vision and strategy on Youth involvement in the Movement.

Another hot topic that was also engaged was, Youth involvement in Society with a special focus on the Rights of Young People. The main question here was to assess what the participants as members of one of the largest Youth Movement in the world, could do to help advocate for the support the development of Youth Rights around the world.

The highlight of the day was the presentation of the candidates for the election of Youth Advisors of the World Scout Committee. During the course of the WSYF, 6 new Youth Advisors will be elected. Youth Advisors support the World Scout Committee in its deliberations and are included in the meetings and decision-making processes of the governing structure of WOSM.The day was finally topped off by a Project Fair aptly titled “Impact on Society”, where participants were given the opportunity to exhibit their projects and national initiatives to not only share best practices and experiences but also to demonstrate how Scouts are making a positive change in society
