1st North-East Youth Scout Camp in Nigeria

History is made in Nigeria as the Borno State Scout Council led by Alhaji Tahiru Saidu played host to the first ever North East Zonal Youth Camp for the Scout Association of Nigeria.

The Camp held between 28th - 31st December, 2018 saw in attendance the participation of 148 scouts from Northern States like Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Kano, and Bauchi States.

The event was also witnessed by various youth Organisations like the Nigerian Red Cross, Man O War, Boys Brigade, and Peace Corps.

A Team of Facilitators for the camp was pooled across Uniformed organisations like the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Immigration, the Nigerian Ref Cross, etc.

The event saw the presence of the Nigerian Army, the Shehu of Borno, The Nigerian Immigration Service, The Nigerian Customs Service, the State Security Service, the Nigerian Prison Service, the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), etc.

The Chief Commissioner, The Scout Association of Nigeria, the Deputy Chief Commissioner, the International Commissioner, and the Staffs of the National Scout Bureau also graced the event in a grand style.

The event created a remarkable awareness of Scouting in the North Eastern Region of the Country. Despite the security challenges and threatening incidences recorded in that part of the country.
