SUSTAINED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT -Combat HIV/AIDS,Malaria &other diseases
BRIEF NOTE ON THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
1 HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme
As part of our Scouting activity, we conducted an awareness programme on HIV/ AIDS for six months from 1-8-2016 to 31-1-2017 at the HARI KRISHNA KUDUMBA SREE VILAPPILSHALA area in Thiruvananthapuram District.
Prior to starting the activity, we had met the District Medical Officer (DMO), and the Kerala Aids Control Society Officials to know more about AIDS and also to collect pamphlets for distribution during the house visit. Along with the house visit we conduct a Survey to assess people’s awareness on AIDS/HIV disease. It was found that people are aware about AIDS, but some misconception is there among the people on the spread of the disease. However, our awareness campaign brings in people aware about AIDS/HIV and mode of precautions to be taken to keep away from the disease or the spread of the disease.
