Messengers of Peace Community Project

9. Abr 2014

Our Community project was to prepare and partake in the local St.Patricks Day Parade. We asked local farmers Philip Burke for his tractor, John Burke for his trailer and Paul Walsh to drive for us. We set about deciding on our costumes and props. We decided on Pharoahs of the Nile to link in with our one prgramme. So over the 4 weeks a lot of hard work was done making Pharoah costumes and painted boats, making a throne and a Pyramid. We painetd our banner for the back of the trailer. Later we discovered the parade had a theme Super Heroes so we twigged our sign to Say Ancient Super Heroes. The excitement when the day arrived and everybody dressed up in their costumes and climbed on board the trailer. The Community were delighted with our efforts and the children were delighted with the lolly pops the Cubs threw out to them. To top off the Day we won Best Float in the parade which was a great suprise as we didn't even know they had a competition.
