how do you re: train old leader who just don't like change?

Hi Wayne. Change is a sensible thing for every human beeing at every age. NOrmally the resitance is related to some kind of unconscious natural fear or insecurity. Any learning process brings me from being and APRENTICE to become and EXPERT, by doing and practicing. If I'm already and EXPERT I might not be confortable to become an APRENTICE againg. So, helping adults to feel confortable about new learnings and new knoledge will be a key element in any training experience. If you are a facilitator or trainer, you should help them first to create their individual confort state to start any new learning. Let them exrpess their concerns first, ask them to suggest ideas to make the process easier, validate their experience and find the style each of them learn new things. All of this wil help you to set a friendlier environment for trainees.
