How to Experience our Digital Jamboree All Year

The Jamboree On The Air - Jamboree On The Internet (JOTA-JOTI) is the largest annual digital & radio Scout event in the world!

It’s an opportunity for young people to come together - from home or from Scout gatherings - to meet Scouts around the globe, play games, learn about fun topics from amateur radio to sustainable living to mental health, gather for international campfires, and so much more.

JOTA-JOTI happens every year during the third week of October. But let’s not keep it to one weekend a year! These are five ways to re-live the digital Jamboree anytime:

  1. Watch JOTA-JOTI Live
Gather your Scout friends, make some popcorn and watch (or re-watch) any of the 3 JOTA-JOTI Live shows anytime! In every show, you’ll meet Scouts from around the world, see artistic talents, and hear from Scout hosts and special guests. Check out our 2021 Shows:

Guests include: Bear Grylls, Chief Ambassador of World Scouting; The Duke of Cambridge, HRH Prince William; Andy Chapman, Chairperson of the World Scout Committee; and more!

Guests include: AY Young, musician; HRH The Crown Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg; Marwa Awad, World Food Programme; and more!

Guests include: Ahmad Alhendawi, Secretary General of WOSM; Max Woosey, @the_boy_in_the_tent; Sara Sjöstrand, Kandersteg International Scout Centre; Nika Gorovska, World Scout Committee member & Messengers of Peace Hero; and more!

  1. Connect with another Scout group online
A fun way to deepen connections with Scouts around the world is to run meetings between Scout groups in different regions or countries. Some groups do this once, while others have regular meetings with the same group a few times a year.
Scout Leaders can use this article to walk thru five steps to connect their group in a fun, safe and inclusive way.

Learning what Scouting is like in other places and bonding over our common values and mission as Scouts is all part of building a better, more peaceful and understanding world… plus, it’s fun!

P.S. If you need inspiration for how to start a conversation with Scouts from another country, we have you covered with 10 Conversation Starters

  1. Re-visit the JOTA-JOTI campsite
Did you know you can watch (or re-watch!) JOTA-JOTI sessions on the 2021 campsite? That’s right! Check out the Innovation Lab and scroll to “Past Events” to find session recordings.

For example, you can learn Team Building Skills, find out about the Champions for Nature Challenge, learn to build a pocket first-aid kit, and much more!

You can also jump to the Fun Zone where activities and games are still available for you, relive the campfires in the Celebration Arena or even take a moment to explore the Faith and Beliefs zone!

  1. Follow @worldscouting on social media
Year-round, World Scouting is active on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter, where we share posts about what Scouts are doing around the globe, along with events, tools & resources for Scouts and Leaders. Don’t miss a thing - follow us on your favourite channels!

We also have dedicated channels for #JOTAJOTI, where you’ll see details about the upcoming event starting mid-year on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter.

  1. Connect with your Scouting region
Did you know that each Scouting region has its own events, initiatives and programmes to help reach, support and connect neighbouring Scouts?

This includes events like regional Jamborees & Youth Forums, both online and in-person. Depending on the region, you can find events and resources in English, French, Spanish, Arabic or Russian.

To learn more, be sure to connect with your region:

Thanks for your continued dedication to Scouts, to international friendship and to learning. We look forward to seeing you at the next JOTA-JOTI: 14-16 October, 2022!
