I am Raji Quadri Bommodeoku (Dr Raj), A multidisciplinary seascout Leader from 100 mass seascout ship, Lagos, Nigeria.
I am an health care practitioner with speciality in tropical medicine ,therapeutic pathology , community medicine including expertise in maritime industry as a certified Ship Manager and mandatory STCW qualified. Joined Scouting in late 1990s at Apapa Scout Province with 17th Apapa Scout Group located at Pakun Ola Nursery and Primary School. I had moved to different scout boroughs to practice as ascout Leader as a result of relocation.
I have rose through the ranks from patrol second to become a scout Leader, District Scout Leader,District Scout Commissioner and currently a National Headquarters Commissioner for seascout in the Scout Association of Nigeria. I enjoy challenging tasks, I had sailed with the largest Nigerian Navy Ship to the sea for learning through observation. I absolutely think formal education is beneficial, however, i don't think it adequately equips young people with the required skills they need for success. One of my thrusts is taking young sea-scouts to experience a year round activities on sea and lakes to develop new skills and learning through observation. The excitement in them after encoutering hugging and sagging, racking abysmally generates euphoria and motivation.
It is my hope that every young scout would experience personal development through real life scouting educational methods in a way that truly allows us foster camaraderie among scouts, to significantly make the world a better place.
