Scouts of Montenegro Support their National Vaccination Campaign
The pandemic has affected all aspects of our life and continues to take a heavy toll on our local communities. One of the most effective tools to curb the spread of the virus and therefore restore a form of normality, is vaccination. In Montenegro Scouts have started to assist call centres in rolling out the national Covid-19 vaccination programme.
The process has just begun and the healthcare system needed extra support due to overload and understaffing.
As a result, some health centres turned to the Association of Scouts of Montenegro looking for volunteer help to support the scheduling and administrating process of the vaccination campaign.
“We of course responded to the call of help immediately. Our Scouts were invited to volunteer at the Call Center” said Milica Radonjić, Technical Secretary of Association of Scouts of Montenegro.
About 30 Scouts have been trained, organised and divided into smaller teams to take different shifts answering phone calls from all around the country. They have been providing information about the administration of the vaccines as well as the scheduling process.
“Serving our community is one of our Scouting pillars and we are more than happy whenever we have a chance to put that into practice.” added Radonjić.
