Every Drop Counts: Egyptian Scouts Water Use Rationalization Campaign
In line with its contributions to the global Scouts For SDGs campaign the Egyptian Federation for Scouts and Girl Guides’ has launched the national campaign on rationalization of water consumption themed “Every Drop Counts”. The campaign, which is organized in cooperation with Egypt's Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW), will run until the end of 2020. It aims to increase awareness of 20,000 Scouts nationwide about the importance of water use rationalization.
It is expected that about one million cubic meters of water will be saved over the period of the campaign. Scouts and guides began to submit several initiatives which are anticipated to “secure water and wastewater services for all” through water recycling hygiene systems. The campaign will help achieve progress in SDGs relating to health, education, economy and the environment.
Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Scouts around the world have been responding to the needs of their communities on an individual and group level from awareness-raising to deliveries of essential items. World Scouting set up a Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund, where you can donate to help Scouts continue supporting their communities in need. All funds will be channelled directly to support National Scout Organizations.
