The National Association of Early childhood education of the Gambia invited the Gambia scout association to do a presentation about scouting, its importance and how young people between the Ages of 3-7 years can take part in scouting. Growth is a priority for the Gambia scout Association and part of our strategies to reach 80% increment in our numbers by 2021 is to introduce scouting to schools and communities.

The presentation was made before heads of Nursery schools and the executive committee of the National Association of early childhood education. the presentation made by Omar Jarju (O.J) centered on the Introduction to scouting, and putting much emphases on the growth areas scouting targets and the principles of scouting.

after the presentation most of the school heads promised to set up cub packs as soon as possible because scouting is looking at contributing to the education of the young ones therefore comlementing schools in providing non formal education which is very key in their growing up as responsible citizens and as individuals.

the meeting agreed to setup a 7 member task force to coordinate the process of setting up scouting in Nursery schools with the support of the Gambia scout association and be reporting to the meeting.

the chief scout Abubacarr Krubally took the meeting through the importance of setting up scouting in nursery schools as it will impact the life of the child in many ways as he/she grows up. He therefor used the opportunity to task all the representatives of the schools to take the responsibilities of being the Akelas of the Packs in their schools. As a sign of acceptance  they showed this commitment by renewing the scout promise after him.
