Victone Onyango, District Scout Commissioner in Kenya, created the project My Talent My Voice to provide youth with accurate health information and to increase access to health services in his community. In order to formalize their work and deepen its impact, he and fellow Scouts decided to found the Inuka Success Youth Organization, around the vision of innovative awareness creation and advocacy.

My Talent My Voice uses an interactive, entertaining approach through participatory community theater performance and football methodology. The theatre team conducts outreaches within schools, markets, local gatherings and chief barazas; while in Football for HIV, the project planners trained football coaches who can then supervise their own teams. The coaches are assessed by the members of the project and the players are given routine questionnaires to assess the level of understanding and HIV knowledge they got from the initiative.

At the end of every ten sessions, the project team organises a HIV Testing Tournamnet in order for everyone to check and know their status. During that time, the theatre team informs the community in a more creative way about HIV, and the most talented among the young participants are awarded.

This initiative has been receiving partial support from Ministry of Health in terms of HIV service provision, World Vision Kenya, Kisumu County Scout Association, Tackle Africa as well as local individuals and community based organisations.

Through this approach, the team is celebrating over 8,479 young people reached since 2015, 1,157 tested for HIV since 2016 and 39 people living with HIV/AIDS enrolled as ambassadors of the programme.
