All participants reached Rawalpindi Railway Station at 7:30 am on 18 Oct, 2014. Afte opening ceremony we moved toward Trail 3 track Islamabad from railway station. We started hike at 10:00 am. The most famous and old hiking track of Islamabad. Trail 3 - begins from Margalla Road, F-6/3 (the junction between Margalla Road & Ataturk Avenue). It is a little steep and strenuous in the first leg, which goes up to the Viewpoint and is about a 30 - 50 min. trek. After the Viewpoint continues on for another easy-going 45 - 60 mins and reaches Monal. All participants were very exited. It was hilly area. We reached on top of track at 1:30 pm. We enjoyed the greenery of track. Bird eye view of Islamabad (Capital City of Pakistan) was also experienced. After this we moved toward Daman-E-Koh. Daman-e-Koh is a viewing point and hill top garden north of Islamabad and located in the middle of the Margalla Hills. Its name is a conjunction of Urdu & Persian words: Daman, which means center and Koh, which means hill. Daman-e-Koh therefore meaning center of the hill. It is about 2400ft from sea level and almost 500ft from the city of Islamabad. It is a popular destination for the residents as well as the visitors to the capital.
Daman-e-Koh is a midpoint for tourists on their way to the higher view point Pir Sohawa which is located at the top of Margalla Hills at an elevation of about 3600ft. After visiting Daman-E-Koh we visited Centaurus. The Centaurus is a mixed use real estate development in Islamabad, Pakistan. Designed by British architectural firm WS Atkins, it comprises three skyscrapers, containing corporate offices, residential apartments and a 5-star hotel. The tallest skyscrapers in the city have 41 stories and all three are linked by a shopping mall. Interior Design of The Residence and Mall have been designed by ODEION-Turkey. Its estimated cost is $350 million USD. The Centaurus Mall is located over four-storey, which has around 250 shops. We reached back at Railway Station after visiting these places. Where at night we enjoyed the campfire. Next day we done hiking of track Shakarparian. Shakarparian (also known as Shakarparian Hills) is derived from two words from the Potohari language, Shakar - meaning "sweet", and Parian from Parao - meaning a place to rest, or stop over - layover during long journeys. It comprises a hill and a local park in Islamabad, Pakistan. Park is located near the Zero Point Interchange. Pakistan Monument is located in the Shakarparian. The old Gakhars tribe leaders settled here before Indo-Pak partition 1947; later the clan was relocated to create a park for Newly marked federal capital of the country in 1960-61. At night closing ceremony was arranged in which participants were given certificates. Tariq Qureshi (Provisional Secretary Punjab Boy Scouts Association) was chief guest in closing ceremony.
