FIRST DAY EXPERIENCE AT DISI COURSE 2017
The first ever Diversity, inclusion and social impact course of The Scout Association of Nigeria is underway at the TSAN Operational Headquarters, Oba AKENZUA International Camp iyekogba, Benin city, Edo state. Like the Brownsea experience of BP, the course has twenty participants from Edo, Delta, Ogun, Ondo, Lagos, AKWA IBOM and KANO. In his opening charge on the commencement of the course on Sunday, the Course Leader, Apostle TOLA ADENEKAN noted that the end result of all scouts activities is measured by the impact it brings to creating a better world. The Course on Monday received lectures on WOSM strategic priorities by the course leader while two online lectures on Youth program/ safe from harm and Scout of the World Award/ Proficiency badges were delivered by Dr Philips SOLEYE from US and Mr Said MUMINEY from UK. Two external resource persons, the Edo state desk officer for Fadama/ HOD Agric Mrs Peace Awaritoma delivered a lecture on Food for life while Edo State Chief environmental officer, Mrs R E Omoregie spoke on Environmental Sustainability Program. Apostle TOLA ADENEKAN also engaged the participants on Project Planning and Management. The Course Director, Prince Adeolu OYELAMI charged participants to be creative and innovative in scouting programming toward building public confidence and creating a positive change. Other Resource persons on ground are ENGR B. A. OYETAYO and Mr Solomon Etim. The State Scout Commissioner, Edo State, Hubert Osifo visited the course in company of his assistant, Mr Glory OSADOLOR.
