On Christmas Eve a delegation of scouts of NOSU composed of 9 members ( Mykolayiv regional center and regional center of Dnepr led by the former head of the National Council of NOSU Andrey Chesnokov) took part in the annual charity event "Friendslicht 2016" in Vienna (Austria). Light of Peace always burns in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ. Light is a symbol of good, peace of mind, love for people and for the world. And through the centuries Light of Peace travels across many borders from hand to hand, from one scout center to another, creating a "scouting baton" and uniting scouts from all over the world and finally it goes to everyone who is waiting for light warmth, peace and faith.
Light of Peace from Bethlehem people can bring into their own houses and light candles for the Holly Supper. In addition, the Light of Peace is brought to orphanages, hospitals, to those who are far away from their families to give them a feeling of warmth of the star of Bethlehem.
Another important event for the scouts of NOSU was the visit to a Interreligious and intercultural dialogue Center - KAICIID in Vienna. The guests of Center were Austrian and American scouts. There were organized an informative training and some interesting games for the delegations. New mets open new opportunities and intercultural dialogue only contributes to this!
Next day the scouts of NOSU embodied acquired knowledge into practice. Scouts from Austria, Germany, Romania and Syria helped them in it. Joining together in groups of two they started to play. The first group organized active games at the fresh air, on the cozy courtyard of the church, where afterwards would be a ceremony of transfer of the Light of Peace from Bethlehem.
Another group was doing the interactive tasks in the premises of the shrine. Thanks for the help to Andrey Chesnokov, who was not only the organizer of the meeting, but also help in other important areas and also become a good guide in Vienna!
Time passed very quickly. NOSU delegation went to other European countries and soon the Light of Peace from Bethlehem was arrived home - in Mykolaiyv regional center!
