Venture Scouts plant Trees in Lagos
Lagos State Scout Council of the Scout Association of Nigeria recently held a Venture Scout Camporee to bring together Scouts who are above 15 years old and are looking towards a wider exploration in their respective communities.
Venture Scout in Nigeria accommodates both females and males and focuses its emphasis on the process self-actualisation, acquisition of knowledge, exploration and enhancement of personal characteristics. This is not limited to Community Services and global technology.
Bringing different Districts and Units together, Alhaji Lukman Buraimoh who led the Venture section of the Lagos State Scout Council commented on the activities of the section during the 3-Day weekend camporee held on Friday 26 to Sunday 28th August, 2016 at The Pathway School, Ogudu, Lagos State.
As part of the programme planned for the camporee, Venture Scouts in Nigeria are also helping to fight climate change by planting trees, said Lukman Buraimoh.
Trees play such an important role in our environment. They absorb harmful carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and produce the oxygen we all need to breathe.
By planting trees, Scouts can also help to save the world and our immediate community.
