October 22 2015, Astana, Kazakhstan, at the Library of the First President of Kazakhstan - Leader of the Nation, Organization of the Scout Movement of Kazakhstan (OSMK) presented our Project to develop a Non-formal Education Program for children and youth. A unique feature of the program is that its educational objectives will be established on national, cultural and spiritual values of our multinational state. This is a global project for Kazakhstan, which will allow the younger generation to get comprehensive development. It will be based on the best domestic and foreign Scouting practices.
Invited to the meeting Nikolay Akatov, Director, Strategic Planning of the Eurasia Support Centre of the World Scout Bureau, told about the effectiveness of Non-formal Education for young people in Scouting. According to him, Scouting, like the education system, based on 2 concepts: the concept of self-education and the concept of "education from within", as opposed to "instruct the outside." That is, the "teacher" for the young man is, basically, himself.
The presentation aroused keen interest among representatives of ministries and departments, local experts and parlamentarians. Representatives of Parlament A.Solovyova, M.Begentaev, A.Begeneev and T.Berdongar expressed full support for the initiative of development of the Scout Movement and offered a platform for the Parlament of involvement in the development and implementation of the Program of government officials. A governance of Library First President of Kazakhstan expressed readiness for further cooperation in the field of education and training of Kazakh children.
Scouts are invited to teamwork and cooperation of all who care about the present and the future of Kazakhstan, and who are interested in the experience of developing large-scale educational projects of the international level.
