In National Disaster Preparedness and Management Course, on 10th Oct. 2015 we had a session of Stop The Violence in which 113 participants took part. The session was conducted by Ms. Ritu Sharma DOC Rajasthan. This session began with the movie by Madhuri dixit titled "Ladke rote nehi" which gave a sensation to all the participants about the topic. Later we had a group discussion in which distribution of work on basis of gender was discussed. Next participants were asked to tell difference between sex and gender after the random trials from them Ms Ritu told them the basic difference. She discussed all types of violence exists in India as domestic violence, dating violence, female genital mutilation, forced child marriage, killing girl child, participants also took part in discussion actively. They also learned the details about the STV campaign running by WAGGGS and UN Women. We had a discussion to know the role of scouts guides in reducing violence against women. They learned all the possible ways to stop the violence and the change they can make in society. Next, the steps to gain the badge was discussed with the participants and official video of STV was shown to them. We discussed the methods which can be used to aware people as campaign, rally, help NGO, support form govt.etc. After this the book Mera Sambal was shown and given to them which includes all the laws of constitution of India which has been launched by The Rajasthan state Bharat Scouts and Guides to improve advocacy skills of all the girls. All the participants had very fruitful interaction with each other and enjoyed the concept.
