47 Scout Leaders Undergo Assistant Leader Trainers Course in Niger

12 March 2019 - Siloe, Niger: 47 Scout Leaders from 9 countries in the West African zone have spent the last one week at the Siloe Centre in Kareygourou, Tillaberi undergoing the Assistant Leader Trainers Course. The regional training organizes by Association des Scout du Niger and facilitated by the World Scout Bureau Africa support centre with support from Scouts et Guides du France and other trainers from the zone drew participants from Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Comoros, Gambia, Guinea, Niger, Nigeria and Togo.


The main aim of the one-week training is to equip leaders with the capacity to assist in the recruitment, training, deployment and providing support to adult volunteers to effectively run the Scout programme in their countries.  The training was one of the activities held within the framework of the week-long Africa scout day celebrations being hosted in Niger.
