Keeping it UP! - APR Workshop on Adult Support to Youth Programme

The Asia-Pacific Regional (APR) Workshop on Adult Support to Youth Programme was hosted by the Scout Association of Hong Kong (SAHK) on 21-24 September 2017 at the BP International House, Hong Kong.
 
The aim of the workshop is to provide an avenue to emphasize the Adult’s involvement in Scouting as primary support to the Youth Programme and to promote and strengthen the synergy of Adults in Scouting and Youth Programme. 
 
A total of 43 participants from 16 National Scout Organizations (NSOs) in APR and 1 NSO from the European Region, Denmark.
 
Prior to the workshop, an APR Adult Support Sub-Committee meeting was also held in Hong Kong on 20 September 2017 and was attended by 11 out of 15 members.  Most of these sub-committee members stayed on for the workshop to serve as Resource Persons and Facilitators.
 
It was an interactive learning workshop wherein the Resource Persons and Facilitators were able to share their knowledge and experiences to the participants and the participants as well, through group works and sharing, were able to share their knowledge and experiences from working in their respective NSOs.
 
Workshop sessions included lectures, group works, experience and best practices sharing. Handouts and other reference materials for the workshop were also provided to the participants.
 
Those who served as Resource Persons in the workshop are: WSC member Peter Blatch, Youth Adviser to WSC Mori Cheng, APRSC Chairman Paul Parkinson, APR Adult Support Sub-Committee Chairman Dale Corvera, APR Programme Sub-Committee Chairman Dev Raj Ghimire, APR Adult Support Sub-Committee members Elston Hynd, Antong Shahruddin and Wilson Lai, RSC Consultant Kirsty Brown and SAHK Training Commissioner Dr. Mak, Wai-ming. Workshop Advisers are Regional Director J. Rizal C. Pangilinan and APRSC First Vice Chairman Wendel Avisado. SAHK Chief Commissioner NG Ah-ming served as Workshop Director with SAHK International Commissioner Hubert HO as Workshop Coordinator. From the Asia-Pacific Support Centre are Mr. Thian Hiong-Boon, Mr. Syd Castillo and Ms. Fatima Amido.
