Dear Friends, Dear Scouts,
Because of its very nature, the Scout Movement has been long present at
grass-roots level all around the world. More than ever it has become of
cardinal importance that we share and exchange news, experiences and
stories with everyone else in the Movement – and outside – using the
latest communication instruments.
Today, we are very pleased to present to you the new version of
WorldInfo, which is no longer just an electronic announcement of the
contents of a printed Scoutpak that has been mailed to all National
Scout Organizations.
As from today, WorldInfo becomes the WOSM electronic newsletter, which
aims to provide you with an opportunity to capture a snapshot of the
various happenings in Scouting around the world. For the moment
WorldInfo will be released every two months but we hope to move to a
monthly issue as soon as possible.
Do not hesitate to share WorldInfo with others and please encourage your friends to subscribe directly.
If you have an interesting item of news or a story to share from your
local Scouting experience, we would be happy to disseminate that further
to other Scouts around the world through worldinfo. Please send us your experiences and, in every edition, we will publish at least one story received from a reader.
We could not possibly launch this new version of WorldInfo without
publically recognising the support provided in the past by all the
volunteers involved in Global ScoutNet, particularly Gino Lucrezi and
Benoit Panizzon, who have managed the distribution to the subscribers of
WorldInfo since its inception. A big thank you from World Scouting.
