Players can create their own character, boy or girl, customize neckerchief (Scout scarf), uniform, hair and skin colour, and then enter a virtual world. They then engage in a series of challenges in order to find the Chief Scout's secret knowledge. The Chief Scout of the Scout Association, UK is Bear Grylls, a well-known celebrity in the world of adventure.

The game, developed by the Fyzz Facility and Swipe Entertainment, allows the player to embark on a journey through the sky, sea and land, meeting characters including the Chief Scout himself. 'Look out for the official Scouts' game app,' says Bear Grylls, 'You're going to love it!'

The developers of the Scouts Game App, Fyzz Facility is a boutique film and App financing company, owned and run by Wayne Marc Godfrey, former Director of Acquisitions & Development at Goldcrest Films, and Robert Jones, producer of Academy Award winning films The Usual Suspects, Gosford Park and The Constant Gardner, to name a few.

‘The game is a brilliant way to experience the fun, challenge and adventure of Scouting,' says Chris James, Creative and Brand Adviser at The Scout Association. 'Of course nothing beats the real thing, but this is sure to give anyone an appetite for the great opportunities and adventures that Scouting offers.'

The game was also road tested by nearly three hundred Scouts at Gilwell Park's (The Scout Association UK’s Scout Centre in London) Wintercamp. Dylan, 13, was one of the Scouts who took part: 'I thought it was really adventurous,' he said. 'There were lots of realistic activities and things to do. 'It was really cool that you could see the character from different perspectives,' said another.

The Scouts' Secret Island Adventure activity packs for Scouts and Scout Leaders, and other goodies are also available for free download at www.scoutsapp.com. The game is priced at £1.99 and is available now from the App Store and as an Android app on Google Play.
