The World Scout Bureau celebrates Founder's Day
Geneva, Switzerland 22 February – The World Scout Bureau Central Office and the European Regional Office have celebrated Founder's Day by taking the time to reflect upon the importance of working together as a team and moving the Organization forward towards a brighter future.
Luc Panissod, Acting Secretary General of The World Organization of the Scout Movement, made a short and encouraging speech, quoting Baden-Powell on the occasion of the 151st anniversary of the Founder's birth: “In a big movement for a big object there is no room for little personal efforts; we have to sink minor ideas and link arms in a big 'combine' to deal effectively with the whole. Co-operation is the only way if we mean to win success.”
He asked that the Movement heed these words and work together towards a successful World Scout Conference in Korea in July 2008, to enable the best possible outcomes for the Organization as a whole.
