Peace Messages

Today, Scouts worldwide are celebrating Scouting's Sunrise, our 100th anniversary and the dawn of a second century of Scouting.

Millions of Scouts are sharing their Gifts for Peace with their communities, demonstrating how we can work to create a better world.

Throughout the 21st World Scout Jamboree, Scouts are recording their messages for peace through open source software, working to spread tolerance and understanding whilst helping to reduce the digital divide.

These are recorded as video clips, audio clips, photographs and computer graphics.

One Sudanese Scout, Samuel Odwrico, 15, even wrote a letter, using a computer for the first time, and saying "for the first time I see people from different country and I am very happy because we have peace in our land". He thanked his two new friends, Rita and Leo who helped him to use the computer.

Scouts will be able to share their own messages following the Jamboree and up until the JOTA/JOTI event in October. More information will follow soon.
