Scout addresses UN Secretary General during Sudan visit

A representative from the Sudanese Scouts has participated in the meeting held by the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon with NGOs which was held at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum, Sudan last Monday.

The Secretary General presented his vision towards the role of the United Nations in a changing world. He urged youth of the world to strengthen Comprehensive Peace, and moreover, he focused on the role of youth in achieving the Millennium Development Goals for a better world.

Mohamed Salih, Commissioner of Communications and Media for the Sudanese Scout Association, spoke at the event, welcoming the Secretary General in his visit to Sudan, and thanking him for his kind message that he sent to the participants of the 21st World Scout Jamboree in the UK. Mr Salih reiterated the commitment of the 28 million Scouts all over the world in working towards creating a better world and assured that promoting a culture of peace is one of the priorities of the Scout Movement.
