CNV team visits Philippines

As the year begins, the Regional Scout Committee continues its Committee NSO Visit (CNV) to National Scout Organizations (NSOs) that will create closer relations and assess the key performance areas.

The main purpose of the CNV is to assist NSOs in delivering and continually improving the quality of Scouting in their respective countries.

For this month, the regional team headed to the Philippines and made a three-day meeting from 15th to 17th January 2009 at the headquarters of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. During the opening day, Regional Chairman Jejomar C Binay, said that the success of Scouting in the Philippines is due to the eagerness of Scouts to serve the Scout Movement.

The CNV team, comprised of Regional Scout Committee Vice-Chairman Mohammed Ali Khalid, together with Member Dr Mohammed Mukhyuddin and APR Awards Committee Chairman Hj Zainal Abidin bin Penghulu Hj Ibrahim, met with the BSP national leaders and made a review on BSP's challenges as a Scout association its past accomplishments using the eight-point guideline. Committee member Oh Sang Gyoon joined the team at the concluding session.

Regional Director Abdullah Rasheed and Director Syd Castillo were also at the meeting representing the regional office.
