17. Sep 2013

Project is looking up to achievement of 2 specific objectives:
1)     Promotion of the Peer Learning among the scouts and other youth of Georgia and the scouts of the Eurasian countries by developing basic environment protection skills and influencing their behavior towards natural environment;
2)     Developing network and exchange platform between the youth of Georgia and Eurasian countries.

The following activities are planned to achieve the project objectives:
Preparatory work (already completed) - Camp organizational committee, together with the GOSM leadership and other scout leaders have planned the camp;
Implementation of the Scout Camp - Scout Camp: “Time” has been implemented in Vartsikhe (Bagdati distr.), Georgia in August 6-16, 2013. About 400 participants and 70 leaders from 12 different countries have spent 10 days in a traditional scout outdoor environment, full of scout educational activities.
Environmental activities have been an integral part of the whole camp programme:
üParticipants took part in a renewable energy workshop, where they’ve generated electricity from spoiled fruits. They’ve also created artworks from the recycled materials.
üSpecial corner of the “World Scout Environment Programme” (WSEP) has provided crosscutting peer learning and training opportunity for the camp participants. Georgian scout leaders, who have already implemented WSEP activities in their groups have shared their experience with other participants, implemented WSEP activities together with them and handed over electronic version of Russian translated WSEP programme. The following activities have been conducted during the camp: “Sense the Nature”, “Catch the Carbon Dioxide”, “My Carbon Footprint”, “Garbage Bag Challenge”, “What disaster am I”.
MOP corner was arranged in the camp, which provided information about MOP and facilitated expansion of the MOP network.
Online Conference: “What have I done for Peaceful Coexistence with the Nature” and consequent online exchange platform - Online conference will be organized three months after the camp to follow up on the camp results and to discuss the projects/activities implemented by the camp participants on the topic of Environment Protection. Future activities will be also discussed and planned. The conference will involve participants from different countries. Discussion language will be English and Russian. Photos and videos will be also exchanged during the conference.
Online conference will be a part of an online platform. Online Exchange platform will provide long-term perspective of communication and best practice sharing between Eurasian scouts on the topic of Environment protection, particularly on use of scout method to foster sustainable development and ecological sensitivity.
