Fifth event on Scout pedagogy

7th Apr 2009

The fifth event on Scout pedagogy, organized by “Scouts Valencians” was held from the 5 to the 7 of March in the University of Valencia. This event was a success because the great number of assistants, the quality of the presentations and the great work carried out by the specialists that were all the time able to help the organization and the participants.

In addition we had the honour to count with the presence, during the act of inauguration, with diverse personalities of the academic, public world and Scout sectors, to which we want to be thankful for its presence and support to this activity, specially to: Mrs Dña. Conception Gomez Ocaña, Autonomic Secretary of Education, D. Adrián Ballester, General Director of the IVAJ (Valencian Institute of Youth); D. Ramon Lopez, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences of Education; Julio del Valle, President of ASDE; D. Denis Albert Solaz, President of the CJCV; Mrs Petra Perez, Educative Director of the Institute of Creativity and Innovations, and to our President Salvador Mompó Valls.

The event were structured in three areas; thus practical presentations, communications and workshops were realised.

In the first area were presented the global vision of the pedagogy in the Scout Movement, the importance of the non-formal education in society, the personal qualification of youth animators, the educative practice in Scouting and their scopes of action or the symbolism in the Scouts groups.

The communications served as an encounter where the participants learn about the different forms to work in this scope, being shown to them different forms to act within the society and of the scope of non-formal education. In this area of communications were presented a set of experiences in very different fields of work, thus presentations from Scouts groups to people responsible of Association of women with cancer, people in charge of a Municipal Group, etc.

Perhaps this was the funniest time for the participants, since the workshops were prepared to be proposed with the idea to be dynamic, at the same time as interesting and formative; participants were in majority women. Workshops were realised in different areas such as: new technologies to the service of the non-formal education, musical education, environment, etc.

Thus, we could say, the participants enjoyed three days full of activities and presentations to which to attend and to learn very diverse things. They were satisfied by the event and some of them were interested in the Scout Movement.

Finally, we would like to thank for their support to Honorable Don Juan Gabriel Cotino Ferrer, Third Vice-president of the Consell; Mrs Petra Perez, Director of the Institute of Creativity, that attended in representation of the Vicerectora of the University of Valencia; that were present to delivery the diplomas to all the participants. A special thanks to Mrs Bethlehem Juliá Hole, Secretary of the IVAJ and to Mr. Saad Zian, Director of Adult Resources at the World Scout Bureau.
