Hai Moldova!

16. April 2011 - 0:00

April 16, 2011, all volunteers from Republic of Moldova had been involved in the biggest social action done in the last years in our country. “Hai Moldova” had been initiated and implemented on the basis of “Let’s do it” project, which took place in more than 12 countries around the world ( Estonia, Romania, Slovenia, Portugal, Ukraine, India, Brazil, Latvia, Lithuania, France, Russia); so 2011 year has been a memorable one in the history of Ecology of our country, since it was made “Cleaning in one day, in all country”.

Let’s do it! is a movement of people who are ready for action- to make real changes in our regions, our countries, our world, in ourselves. Having the same principles, the National Scout Association of Moldova with its whole scout team, got involved actively in the ecological project.

Together with thousands of volunteers, there had been mobilized 26 scout groups on the territory of Moldova, which cleaned up the garbage from their communities, and the 17 members’ rover team which activates in Chisinau, cleaned public leisure places.

Doina Postica, International Commissioner, Youth Advisor: “It was a welcomed activity, necessary and very useful. I am really glad that scouts had been partners to this initiative, which gave a new, fresh breath to the whole country”.

Mihaela Staras, rover: “The ecological activity which recently took place had inspired me and reminded me once more how important is the healthy environment around us and how much a single person can do. Most certainly, scouts will farther promote, partner and organize initiatives like “Hai Moldova”.

Cristina Vladicescu, rover: “ Initially, it looked like not everyone was really interested, somehow being obliged to clean by their organizations, but at the exact date the activity took place, everyone got into work, cooperating really well and friendly”.

Vitalie Iacubitchii, rover: “ Hai Moldova! is one of the best actions organized till now, since no one couldn’t mobilize Republic of Moldova as they did. One thing is certain, NSA Moldova and Hai Moldova! had been exceptional partners during the whole length of the project”.

On the whole territory of Moldova were collected about 100 thousands tones of garbage, and all these thanks to those over 10 thousands volunteers among which were the brave 432 scouts which went out on April 16 “To leave a better world than they found it” as Sir Baden Powell said.
