International Scout Exchange Cultures for Peace Symposium, 08 - 12 September 2011, Kazakhstan

In 2011, the Republic of Kazakhstan is chairing the Organization of Islamic Conference. Under the presidency will be a number of major international events such as the World Islamic Economic Forum, the 38-th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers - the Members of the Organization of Islamic Conference and the others.
Scouting teaches that the beginning of friendship, mutual understanding and tolerance have to be put at an early age and, therefore, we offr to hold International Scout Exchange Cultures for Peace Symposium parallel to meeting of politicians.
The symposium will be a platform to expand the educational and cultural programs on building East-West dialogue, promote cooperation between young people in a spirit of peace and non violence, and promote tolerance and cultural diversity.
At the symposium we invite the representatives of National Scout Organizations of the countries - members of the OIC, the National Scout Organizations of the Eurasia region, and partner organizations of the Scout Organizations of Kazakhstan. It is expected that there will be participate about 300 boys and girls from 50 countries worldwide.
It is the pleasure of Kazakhstan Scout Organization to Invite Five Participants from your National Scout Organization at the age of 16-25 to the International Scout Exchange Cultures for Peace Symposium which will take place in Astana the Capital of Kazakhstan for Five Days 08 - 12 September 2011. Scout Organization of Kazakhstan provides for all participants accommodation, meals, sightseeing program in the city of Astana and participant set. Member country shall bear the costs associated with travel to the venue of the Symposium (Kazakhstan, Astana) and back.
As part of the Symposium will be held the following activities:
«SCOUT EXPO ASTANA» - Within the frame of the exhibition each country can present their national and traditional clothes and equipments, national food, national songs and national dance in their countries dress. And also conduct the activities and games for people who attend the Expo.

Islam is the Religion of Peace.
How Scouting can achieve Peace in the World.
