The Biggest Scouting Scarf in the World

1st of May 2010, Tunisia Scout Association recorded in Guinness World Records by conducting the Biggest Scouting Scarf in the world. The scarf which is a big collection of all credited colors of the formal Tunisian scouting uniform is 587.5 square meters with a base of 47 meters; the two sides are 35.5 & 35.20 meters and the high is 25 meters. The named Tunisian scouting scarf breaks the previous record number which was recorded by the English Scouting Association.

16 meters sheets of clothes were used in the scarf. The manufacturing process took 1762 hours, about 32 days to finish it. A very big ceremony was organized in the local Football Pitch in Hammam Al- Anf; south of Tunisia the capital where the Biggest Scouting Scarf which was conducted by Hammam Al- Anf troop (Bin Arous sector) was shown . The ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohamed Al- Mahdi Meleka – Minister and the Chairman of the National Committee responsible for Cleaning & Looking after the environment accompanying with Mr. Ali Fathallah – Chairman; Les scouts Tunisiens in addition to a very big number of Scouts, Media representatives, VIPs and key guests. Under the Motto “ The challenge starts from here”, it was reported that the Scarf is going to travel through the different Tunisia governorates as a promotion of the Scout Movement and to attract more involvement of Youth in the different Scouting activities.
