The Event of the Year in the Interamerica Region: ExpoPro 2024!
Last Sunday, April 21, in a virtual village inspired by nature, the long awaited 2nd Interamerican Exposition of Community Projects - ExpoPro 2024 took place. With the participation of 50 community projects, building towards the Scouts for SDGs initiative, led by young people from 12 countries in the region, the event was a true showcase of innovation and youth commitment.
Countries such as Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, El Salvador, Argentina, Peru and Bolivia were represented at this exhibition, which brought together 75 young exhibitors presenting their creative ideas in key areas such as health and wellbeing, environment, sustainability, peace, community engagement and life skills. Thanks to the support of 25 volunteers from the region, during 4 weeks, the group of young exhibitors had the opportunity to participate in capacity building sessions, prepare materials for their exhibition and design the speeches they presented during the event.
During the event, we met Allan, Daniela, Florencia and Matheus and celebrated together the powerful voices of young people who are taking action and stepping forward to act for positive change, inspiring full youth participation. Likewise, the participating community had the opportunity to explore international exhibitions where they learned about projects and initiatives such as the Interamerican Leadership training, Scouts for SDGs, Scout Donation Platform, international events and connected with important partners such as Junior Achievements and the Interamerican Scout Foundation.
ExpoPro 2024 has become an invaluable opportunity for the region's youth to share their experiences, learn from each other and make meaningful connections to drive positive change in their communities. With a total of 200 visitors, the energy and enthusiasm was palpable during the presentations and discussions that reflected the inspiring impact of this youth participation platform.
