My name is Nelson Opany. I am a Scout and a Messenger of Peace. I send you greetings from Kenya-the land of great runners, amazing wildlife and wonderful people.
It's Christmas season yet again- a time for celebration. This is a time when we reunite with our friends and families to celebrate God's favour and blessings upon our lives throughout the year.
It's also a time for making wishes-a time to dream again. My greatest wishes for this Christmas are two.
First, I wish that as we go about having fun let us be very careful when we use the roads. Road carnage is one of the greatest killer of many young people. And sadly enough, most of these deaths happen during such festive season. So I urge you all to observe great care and let us preserve the sanctity of life.
My second wish is that, each of us-in the spirit of giving-can undertake to share some love and joy with at least one other person-who is not as privileged as we are. Do a good turn. Just as God has been good to us throughout the year, let us also be good to others. A little act of kindness goes a long way.
Finally, I take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy, blessed and prosperous year 2014. May you always remember your never-ending call to be MESSENGERS OF PEACE.
