International North Atlantic Right Whale Conservation Project -- Join us!
30. Окт 2013
The North Atlantic Right Whale is a mammal that is extremely endangered, numbering only 300 - 400 at this time. Having been hunted to the brink of extinction, this species is still at serious risk. Being that this whale is also the official mammal of the State of Georgia, USA, and that the species uses the Georgia coastal area as a calving area, Pack 297 Tiger Cub Dens 1 and 2 of Pooler, GA, USA are working to raise awareness of the threats to this whale species. We are seeking to make this conservation fundraiser an international affair! Through this conservation project, it is hoped our Scouts will learn the power of collaborating with members of the world community for the betterment of Earth. We also want our Scouts to earn the messenger of peace award and, in the first days of August 2014, the World Conservation award as this year long project comes to a close at that time.
