Messengers of Peace

Signing of a three-sided Understanding Memorandum took place on February 12, 2013 in the central office of National Scout Movement of Armenia “HASK”.

On 26-28 October 2011, was organized the last big event of the project, part of the worldwide project " Messengers of Peace".

50 leaders from the National Scouts Association from Moldova attended this activity. The final aim was to understand the importance of involving children from vulnerable families or those who are educated just by one parent or alone, as a result of emigration.

Scouting and Peace-2 essential things that are found not only in the scout principles, but in the grand great project "Messengers of Peace" launched worldwide.
NSAM is one of many associations that through this project is making a step in solving national problems and in promoting peace at the local level.

One of many activities from the project "Together in Scouting, Together for Peace", part of "Messengers of Peace" project is realized by National Scout Association of Moldova (NSAM) is "Together with parents life is better"- essays, poems and drawings contest. The main objective of MoP in Republic of Moldova is social involvement of the children who are educated just by one parent or alone, as a result of emigration.

September 8-9, Mykolaiv scout county hosted the training seminar within the project of "NOSU" "Platform of the peace: Scouting unites Ukraine" (supported by the World Organization of the Scout Movement).

04 августа в Донецке состоялся поисковый семинар в рамках проекта ВМОО «НОСУ» «Платформа мира. Скаутинг объединяет Украину», он собрал лидеров скаутского движения из Запорожской, Луганской, Днепропетровской, Харьковской и Донецкой областей. Задачами семинара были: разработать межрегиональные коммуникации, оценить эффективность работы в рамках концепции «Скаутские округи» и образования межрегиональных информационно-ресурсных центров НОСУ, рассмотреть предложения для общей скаутской программы НОСУ по принципу «критикуешь — предлагай!».

“Scouts Promoting Non-Violence among the Youth” is a Peace project being implemented by the Scouts of Georgia in the framework of the Messengers of Peace Programme. The project is targeting youth aged 13-16 years old to help raise awareness and build capacity of the youth mediators to serve as a positive force that can change the attitude of youth towards all kinds of conflicts and to encourage higher levels of peer support by sharpening children’s knowledge of non-violent conflict resolution, decision-making and dialogue.

The objectives of the project:

Improve mutual understanding and tolerance of the opinion of other brothers and sisters in Scouting during the development of a common educational programme for Scouts-members of NOSU-through training and workshops. The aim is to raise public awareness about the Scout Method as an educational method for young people through collaboration with the media and educational institutions.
