From Friday night, Geneva time, and throughout the weekend, an international team of Scouts operated the world station. The JOTA and the JOTI organisers came together to coordinate the global Scout network on-the-Air and on-the-Internet, for a very special weekend dedicated to communication and information technologies.
These passionate Scouts who are amazed by the technological solutions which help shrink distances came from Finland, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, Netherlands and obviously Switzerland, and were supported by the Communication Team of the World Scout Bureau.
In presence of an international team of the Swiss Scout Movement, a plan has begun to organise a big Scout camp in the Geneva Scout centre "Les Pérouses" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the JOTA in October 2007, in conjunction with the centennial year of Scouting. Stay tuned to see how you can be a part of this great event next year...

Message from World Scouting's Secretary General

Over the weekend, the Secretary General delivered his annual JOTA/JOTI message in English, French, Spanish and Esperanto, this year focusing on the vision of the Scout Movement which is about creating a better world. A Baden-Powell follower, Eduardo Missoni called on Scouts around the world to contribute to this task and to continue building the unity of the Movement. He also invited the JOTA and JOTI participants to better communicate the vision and the mission of the Movement by being real ambassadors wherever they are.
