APR Events
This four-day workshop, which will be held from 28 to 31 January 2010 at the National Scout Training Centre, Mouchak, Gazipur in Bangladesh, is a gathering of national coordinators from the eight pilot countries (Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka) who will put together an action plan for the coming year.
In 2008, Nepal Scouts hosted the evaluation and planning workshop which gathered 32 country coordinators who looked into the progress of their work and shared their assessment on the impact of Scouting on the street children.
Regional Director Abdullah Rasheed and Director Syd Castillo worked with Srinath TV, Unit Manager of the World Scout Bureau central office on education for all and spiritual development and Mr Bishow Shrestha who served as the workshop coordinator.
Ticket to Life is being supported by the major contributors like United States Fund for International Scouting (USFIS), Scout Association of Japan through the World Scout Foundation, Queen Sylvia Fund and the APR Scout Foundation.

The World Organization of the Scout Movement/Asia-Pacific Region in collaboration with Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia is organizing the APR Workshop on Membership Growth. The aim of this workshop is to provide an avenue for leaders at regional and national levels who are responsible for membership growth to share and exchange ideas to meet the regional growth figures by 2012. The workshop will also help NSOs to develop new strategies to monitor and sustain the membership growth by strengthening/improving the recruitment and retention of members in NSOs.
The World organization of the Scout Movement/Asia-Pacific Region in collaboration with Boy Scouts of the Philippines is organizing the first APR Workshop on Community-Based Scouting to discuss and share policies, promising practices and exchange ideas and views on strategies on how community based Scouting can be an effective method for bringing Scouting closer to the communities thus
contributing to membership growth.
