Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Foundation

Your contribution goes a long way in funding more Scouts working directly with the community.

Aim
To continually build capital funds through membership recruitment of individuals, national Scout organizations and their branches, and corporations who support the worthy cause of Scouting with their donations.

Objectives
To assist in funding worthwhile projects of Member Scout Organizations in the Asia-Pacific Region.

To support research projects on Scouting and the development of Scouting publications.

Background
With a total land area of more than 21 million sq km's and population reaching 1.9 billion excluding non-member countries, the Asia-Pacific Scouting Region has the potential for a wide range of financial resources to support its undertakings. Having a total Scout membership of over 19 million, the region is responsible for 68% of the world's total Scouts. A vast population of young people is still to be reached.

The Foundation started with an initial donation of US$10,000.00 from Scouts of China during the APR Scout Committee meeting held at the 19th World Scout Jamboree in Korea in 1991. Total funds reached US$1,270,442.00 as of June 2004. However, there is a great need to increase this amount to be able to provide sustainable support to the development of young people and the community.
