French-speaking Africa: Regional Communication Forum
A regional Communication Forum will be held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from 2nd to 5th April 2008, with French as the medium of training. Participants will arrive latest Tuesday evening, April 1st and will remain until Saturday 5th April 2008. The Forum will be held at the Centre d'Accueil Notre Dame de Lorette des Frères de la Sainte Famille.
In September 2005, the World Scout Conference adopted a Brand Communication Strategy for the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), with a training plan developed to facilitate the implementation of the Communication Strategy at international and national level.
The aim is to train the persons in charge of the Communication Strategy of a National Scout Organization and future Young Spokespeople who can help put the faces of youth in front of the media.
Facilitators of the seminar will be:
- Richard Amalvy, Director of Communication and Media, World Scout Bureau. He has twenty years of experience in Public Relations, is a former journalist and writer. In 2003 he published the training manual on Scouting's Profile: 'Scout.Boom.Comm'.
- Euloge Ishimwe, Communications Unit Manager, World Scout Bureau, Africa Regional office. He is also a former lecturer of journalism, a journalist and a television producer.
Participants will be inter alia:
- Members of the Communication and the Public Relations teams at the national level
- Young future spokespersons
- People able to effect real change and able to involve themselves in the decision-making processes
- Those with the ability to communicate in French.
