The Ivorian BLAGUET Ledjou Marcel, is the new Chairman of the Africa Scout Committee. He was elected during the 13th Africa Scout Conference which was held from the 3rd to 7th September, 2007 in Kigali.
He succeeded Mr. Jos Nanette of Mauritius.

On the 30th of August 2007, the Regional Director, World Scout Bureau, Africa Regional Office, Ms. Rubina Haroon attended a Seminar at Undugu Informal School, Kibera, Silanga.

On Wednesday September 12, 2007, His Excellency Pierre NKURUNZIZA, the President of Burundi, hosted the Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, Dr Eduardo Missoni as well as the Africa Regional Director, Mrs Rubina Haroon.

Under the banner « Scouting: Education for a Peaceful World United Against Violence », the 13th Africa Scout Conference was successfully held in Kigali, Rwanda. On the hillside adjacent to Nyandungu valley, La Palisse Hotel was beehive of activity. The event, that brought together nearly 150 participants, started after the Youth Forum that had just ended at the same venue. It was declared open on the evening of September 3rd 2007 at the Conference Hall of La Palisse Hotel. The colourful opening ceremony was graced by the presence of the Minister for Youth and Sport,
Mr. Joseph Habineza. Rwanda's cultural troupe 'Amarebe' added flavour to the ceremony thanks to their extraordinary moves.

The Peace Caravans in the Great Lakes goes on its route passing through the North Kivu (Eastern province of the Democratic Republic of Congo). On the way, a particular community activity: the rehabilitation of a cemetery, all together with the Guides and the Scouts of Congo, Burundi and Rwanda.

To mark the Centenary Celebrations, Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya jointly went out of their way to promote peace in East African region, they formed a Peace Caravan.

Singing, cheering, laughing, and clapping, that’s what marked the official ushering in, of the Centenary Celebrations. 27th July 2007 was the official opening of the celebrations in Nairobi, Kenya at the Rowallan Scouts Camp.

All the roads lead to Hylands Park, United Kingdom, as Scouts from all over the world assemble at the 21st World Scout Jamboree.
They came from all the corners of the world, one of them being of course Africa. Nearly 40,000 Scouts from about 160 countries met at Hylands Park, Chelmsford in the United Kingdom. All the sub-regions of the Africa Scout Region are represented, with more than 300 African Scouts at the Jamboree.

On Friday 13th July 2007, the Africa Scout Regional Office launched the ''Africa Scout Peace Initiative Award'' ASPIA in a ceremony that took place at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, KICC, in Nairobi.

The long walk for Peace across the Great Lakes kicked-off on July 4, 2007 in the South Kivu Province, in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 250 young Congolese, Burundians and Rwandans walked a distance of about 60 km for 6 hours, passing through Irambo, Lwiro, Mulungu, Mudata, Bagira, final destination: Bukavu – the province's county town, where they arrived on July 9.
