Messengers of PeaceMessengers of Peace is a World Scouting project created to capitalize on the success of the “Gifts for Peace” projects that were run during the centenary year. The Messengers of Peace programme is a 10-year initiative for the 161 member countries of the World Organization of the Scout Movement to involve individual Scouts as well as National Scout Organizations from all WOSM regions in peace-building activities.أحدث ما أصدرناهThe International Scout Peace Camp (ISPC) opened in fanfare, reinforced with the dancing of hundreds of participants and guests attending the opening ceremony at the Cibubur Scout Camping Ground, east of Jakarta, on 25th March 2013. The peace camp is one of the Messengers of Peace initiatives and the first of its kind held in Indonesia. MoP Coordinators from 22 National Scout Organizations are gathering for four days from 23rd to 26th February 2013 at the National Training Center in Mt. APR Ticket to Lifeأحدث ما أصدرناهI decided to put my plans into action. Continuing on our Rio+20 focus, we present another inspiring story of success from World Scouting. In December 2006 the Asia Pacific Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement launched Ticket To Life – APR. The Initiative, modeled on a similar programme by National Scout Organizations in Africa, has been designed to address the needs of street children by enabling them to join Scouting. It began as a three-day workshop in Manila intended to train Scout leaders in the eight countries participating in Ticket To Life: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, and Philippines. Following the workshop, the leaders returned home and established Scout Groups for children living and working on the streets in their respective countries. The Project has now been working to help socially integrate these children and youth and offer education and skills training so that the newly recruited Scouts are able to live independently in future. This outstanding programme has been a true success in the Asia-Pacific too, encompassing over 1,100 Scouts, in 34 Groups, in eight countries! At least 25% of the Scouts in the programme have advanced to the next level of Scouting and at least 60% have received valuable vocational training. World Scouting’s flagship initiative Messengers of Peace has been helping in the expansion of Ticket To Life. APR Ticket to Life النقاط الفرعيهCommunity-Based ScoutingOne of the strategic priorities of APR Plan 2009-2012 identified by the Asia-Pacific Region is “Community.” This strategic priority identifies the importance of extending Scout membership beyond schools, thereby creating a closer relationship with the community and at the same time aiming for membership growth. Recognising the crucial impact of Scouting on community, the Asia-Pacific Regional Office is supporting all NSOs with following materials that may be helpful in developing Community-Based Scouting available for downloading: أحدث ما أصدرناهThe World Organisation of the Scout Movement/Asia-Pacific Region, in collaboration with the Bharat Scouts & Guides, is inviting Community-Based Coordinators and key leaders from the region to discuss and share experiences, policies and achievements on how Community-Based Scouting is being implemented in their respective national scout association. Full time executives responsible for youth programme activities are also welcome to participate. April 2011 Following up on the Community-Based Scouting (CBS) news in Asia-Pacific Region, we are happy to revert to you with an update on what's coming up. We are always interested to see that initiatives and projects you are conducting in your respective NSO on CBS are showing progress and yielding results. All you have to do is visit the Community-Based Scouting Section on APR website for your learning, sharing and looking forward to see your success. APR Foundation
The Asia-Pacific Region Foundation was established in 1992, started with a seed amount of US$10,000 from Scouts of China during the Regional Scout Committee meeting held at the 19th World Scout Jamboree in Korea in 1991. From the seed amount it has grown over the years. However, there is a great need to increase this amount to be able to provide sustainable support to the development of young people and the community. أحدث ما أصدرناهThe Management Team oversees the affairs of the foundation.
