Bangladesh Scouts collaborates with the Power Division of the Bangladesh government to organize the Power Camp, a simultaneous gathering of 579 camps across the country from 18th to 21st December 2011.

In its effort to provide an attractive and effective youth programme that appeals to the needs and interest of today’s young people, Brunei Scout Association organized National Youth Development Programme workshop from 3-7 December 2011.

This summer, the UK Scouts started a nationwide campaign to collect children books for Bookbridge to establish teaching libraries in Cambodia. Bookbridge is one of the four charities supported by UK Scouts.

To equip key leaders on the important aspects of Messengers of Peace (MoP) project, including its network and funds, a 3-day orientation meeting began on 4th December at the Cibubur Scout Camp, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting also attempts to help project managers or coordinators design peace projects which will make positive impact to the community.

Continuing its commitment to help Bookbridge in its vision to make education free and accessible to all, Scouts are mobilized at national and local levels as Bookbridge expands its work in Cambodia.

Under the Messengers of Peace initiative, a special integration camp was organized between Rovers of Pakistan and India from 16th to 20th November 2011 at the National Youth Complex, in Gadpuri, Haryana where about 300 Rovers, Rangers, including leaders from India and 55 Rovers and leaders from Pakistan participated.

Wearing the Scout uniform as Patron, Nepali Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai pointed out that honesty and discipline are important elements in nation building that Scouting embodies in its principles. He added that Scouts are largely contributing in the process of peacekeeping and even writing the new Constitution. During his term, he vows that the government will financially extend its support to Nepal Scouts for the improvement of activities offered to young people.

Committed to reinforce the role of leader trainers and provide them with the latest training techniques, Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia (GPI) is co-hosting the Course for the Leader Trainers (CLT) from 24 to 30 November 2011 along with the Asia-Pacific Regional Office.

Regional Scout Committee Chairman Jejomar C Binay presented the Plaque of Outstanding Service to Dr Renato L Paras at the Coconut Palace, the office of the Vice-President of the Republic of the Philippines. Dr Paras rendered 20 years of dedicated and excellent service as Regional Treasurer of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, Asia-Pacific Region and retired from the position on 1st August 2011.

Governor General of Papua New Guinea His Excellency Micheal Ogio is now the Chief Scout of The Scout Association of Papua New Guinea after being invested at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the National Scout Council on 19th November 2011.
