60 Web masters and web editors came from 19 Arab countries to gather in Cairo from 17 to 23 march 2009, to evaluate the usage of the internet in scouting, comparing the websites of all the participants to define the strengths and the weaknesses for each one of them and attempting to achieve a charter of good conduct common to all.
For the First Time, are present, in addition to the delegates of the National Scouts Organizations Official, some representatives of scouts websites unaffiliated in any NSO but very popular in the region like 1scout.net, asccg.org, scoutarena.com and Scouting4Peace.
The first day was started by a welcome word of Dr.Atif Abdel Mageed, Regional Director, followed by a motivating speech of Ahmed Abdel Latif chairman of the Arab Regional committee.
The Mark (SCOUTS) was then explained to the participants in details, including the different options available to the national Scouts organizations that wish to adopt and the best ways to put in value in their websites.

Dr Atif Abdel Mageed then presented to the assistance of Dr.Ghazi, the president of Al-Najah TV which proposes to broadcast on its channel some programs, made by Scouts, about their activities and events.
The presentation was followed by a conference of Ms. Maha Bakheet responsible for intellectual property at the Arab League which stressed on the importance of prior authorization of right holders before publishing any protected materials on the internet as in the real world.
The questions here were many especially on the legality of the use of information from other websites (Citation law) and the risks incurred in case of copyright infringement or trademarks.
More information about the legislation are available here: http://www.arabipcenter.com/
In the Afternoon, each participant was allowed to present his website, to be evaluated by the other participants.
