7th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Youth Forum

The 7th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Youth Forum is now going on from 17th to 21st November 2012 at BRAC Centre for Development and Management, in Savar, Bangladesh.

The regional youth forum provides an opportunity for young people to discuss and express their views on issues affecting them while sharpening their skills on decision-making. As the forum is linked to the regional conference, its inputs and recommendations are taken into consideration after the steering committee, headed by youth forum chairman prepares it and presents it to the regional conference.

At the forum, participants will elect seven representatives that will consist the YAMG for the period of 2012-2015.

There are 71 boys and girls from 24 countries attending the regional youth forum with the theme ‘Scouting Bridging the Gap.’ Mr Abul Kalam Azad, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Culture Affairs inaugurated the Youth Forum a chief guest.

Present at the opening were APR Programme Sub-Committee Vice Chairman Mr Rajalingam Ramasamy; Bangladesh Scouts President Mr Md Abdul Karim; Young Adult Members Group Chairman Mr Maeedh Mohammad Zahir and Youth Forum Director Mr Shafayatul Islam Khan.
